WANAROPA – Reforestation Program, 2024

We joined hands today for tomorrow – Being a strength to the mother nature to create a clean breath, a drop of water for future generation, WKV Group launched WANA ROPA, the reforestation programme successfully parallel to the World Environment Day on 5th June 2024.

Without limiting sustainability to just one word and giving a practical approach, the initial launch was taken place for this at Hydree Primary School in Barcapal, Nawalapitiya.

It was done very successfully with the participation of government institutions such as Nawalapitiya Divisional Secretariat, Forest Conservation Department, Nawalapitiya Police Station as well as the representation of religious leaders and the village community.

The event was organized by BC1 and BC2 Hydropower Plants and the resource contribution and the necessary guidance for this project was given by the WKV Group management.
